THE CRUEL PRINCE MEETS THRONE OF GLASS
“I’m not coming with you.” She shot him an extra hateful glare to be certain he understood.
His lips pressed together. “You do not have a choice. You entered the bargain. Now you are bound by it.”
With a wave of his hand, a spinning tunnel appeared directly in front of them. The tunnel seemed to be made of green, brown, and black whirls, but she closed her eyes tight before her curiosity could be too entranced by it. The sound of fluttering leaves and the crisp scent of rain drifted toward her. Was that a hint of wild berries in the air?
Before she could peek through one eyelid, she slammed her eyes shut even tighter. “I am not going.”
He let out an exasperated sigh, but then went a little too silent. Despite her better judgement, she opened her eyes just enough to manage a quick glance.
A sneer passed over his face as he leaned in close to her. “I am going to regret this bargain; I can already tell.”
Her fists tightened at her sides. She looked him straight in the eye. “I’m not going to Faerie.”
“Yes, mortal. You are.”
